More Granny Squares Purses

I want to thank you all so much for your kind comments about the Granny Square Purse that I made for my friend Afrodite. It means a lot to me! I'm glad that it turned out so pretty, even though I have never tried anything like it before, and Afrodite loved it!
So, for your eye pleasure...
I've made some more Granny Squares Purses
NOW available on my Etsy Shop & Dawanda!
I think I'm addicted!
Won't you be?

Granny Squares

Ever since I've first learned how to crochet I've been dreaming of learning how to crochet Granny Squares.
IMG_1840
I don't know why they call them like that, but even their name is cute! My goal is to manage to make a Granny Square blanket someday but I'm going to need LOTS of them!
So, I've made the start! These are my first attempts
after a lot of try and error and the help of my mother.
Yes, my first granny square was a CIRCLE!-hahaha
She hasn't crocheted for YEARS and she hardly remembered anything but everything came back to her!
THANK GOD!
Not so bad I think!

And these are for a special secret project-present
that I'm preparing.
Shhh!  It's a secret!- you'll see it in time!

Christmas Ornaments

A couple of weeks ago I've started working at a kindergarten where I "teach" little ones the magic of creating beautiful things out of nothing. Nothing compares to the joy and the amazed look I see in their eyes every time we finish something new. Little kids are adorable! So, the theme of our creations so far is -WHAT ELSE?- Christmas. And here are some Christmas tree ornaments that we've made.
These are super easy and you can also make them with your kids! That would be a fun parent-child activity!
All you need is simple materials, mostly scraps of felt and paper, hot glue (or any other glue, but hot glue dries faster) and a lot of imagination.
Reindeer Ornament
Lady Penguin Ornament
The little skier
I don't have step-by-step pictures but I'm sure you can understand the process anyway. If you need some extra information don't hesitate to ask me.
Happy Crafting!

Happy November

Happy First Of The Month!
One month before Christmas and 11 days until I'll visit my sister in Berlin! YAY! I can't wait!
Also this past weekend I had my first sales on Etsy! They were all by my sister, so I guess they don't count as actual sales, but I can't help it but be a little excited about it.
Also I have experimented with scrapbooking once more.
I had some fancy pieces of paper laying around
so I've made this page layout that's still in progress
and these cute gift tags.
Also I've received this book
and I'm willing to do my best to
follow each and every challenge.
What about you?
How was your weekend?

More Scrapbooking Experiments

My scrapbooking experiments continue. Although, I think it's more of a Collage Wish Book rather that ACTUAL Scrapbooking. But I'm working on it.
I usually didn't do inside pages.
All I've done so far is decorate cute covers.
Like these:
I've never considered it as Scrapbooking though. I didn't even have a name for that! But now I think I'm "flirting" with a new big love... ;-)
Here is what I've made a couple of days ago. I haven't decided yet what cover I should make for it, but as I said, the experiments are going on and on.
Nothing fancy, but I like it a lot!
What do you think?

A Funny Story

Yesterday I got a phone call from my sister from Berlin. She sounded really worried. "How are you?" she asked me. "I'm ok" I replied. "Are you sick?" she asked me again. "No! From where did you get that idea?". "Are you sure?" she insisted. "I'm ok, really!" I couldn't understand what she meant. "But... I've seen on your blog that you have something... and it's not contagious... Are you really ok?" Then I got it! It was hilarious! She has seen this
and she didn't put much thought on it, she instantly assumed that I actually had a disease or something! I couldn't stop laughing! It was SO FUNNY!
Then I realized... it must be common for others to think of you as a "strange person" if you consider yourself a craft addict. Most of them can't understand why you are keeping this scrap of paper (it's torn, isn't it?) or why you collect all this "useless" caps of bottles and why your room seems more like a warehouse rather than an actual bedroom. You can't blame them, right?
Have you experienced
anything like it?
Have you got this
STRANGE
look from others?
Please, share.

I'm a Craft Addict. Are You?

Yes, that's right. You've heard me!
I'm AN ADDICT, with
a serious addiction!
Don't worry, it isn't contagious, either you have it or not. I mean, it lives in you, even if you haven't realized it yet. It just waits for the right circumstances to appear. Unless, you don't have it at all. But I guess you wouldn't be reading my blog if you haven't had it. So, here's the deal. You go over to Linda's blog, Craftaholics Anonymous and you can also grab the code for this cute button so that you can put it on your own blog/site and spread the addiction! :-) Being an A.A. have never been so much fun before. ;-)
