Creation Of The Day: Fruit

This week's theme is so colorful and happy.

At least that's how it feels to me.

Το θέμα αυτής της εβδομάδας είναι τόσο

πολύχρωμο και χαρούμενο.

Τουλάχιστον έτσι το νιώθω εγώ.

Based on that I've made some cuties that I'm going to bring with me to the Market that I'm going to attend to this weekend  (more details in time). I've found this oilcloth a couple of days ago and I instantly fell in love! It's PERFECT! I think I'm going to make more things with it.

Βασιζόμενη σε αυτό έφτιαξα αυτά τα χαριτωμένα τσαντάκια που θα τα πάρω μαζί μου και στο Market που θα παρευρεθώ αυτό το Σαββατοκύριακο (περισσότερες πληροφορίες εν καιρώ). Βρήκα αυτό το πλαστικό τραπεζομάντιλο πριν μερικές μέρες και το ερωτεύτηκα! Είναι ΤΕΛΕΙΟ! Νομίζω πως πρέπει να φτιάξω κι άλλα πράγματα με αυτό.

Creation Of The Day: Cute Bag With Bow

This week's theme is free so I'll show you

my latest creation that I'm really proud of!

Το θέμα αυτής της εβδομάδας είναι ελεύθερο

γι'αυτό θα σας δείξω την τελευταία μου δημιουργία

για την οποία είμαι πολύ περήφανη!

A couple of days ago I came across

a tutorial for this cute purse based on an original design

of an Anthropology Bag that costs $498,00!!!

No way I would pay that much for a bag!

Μερικές μέρες πριν ανακάλυψα ένα tutorial

γι'αυτή την χαριτωμένη τσάντα βασιζόμενη

σε ένα πρωτότυπο σχέδιο μιας τσάντας

από το Anthropology που κοστίζει $498,00!!!

Με τίποτα δεν θα πλήρωνα τόσα πολλά για μια τσάντα!

Once again I haven't followed the original pattern,

I've improvised and made a pattern of my own.

I've also used an oilcloth instead of fabric,

that has been a little tricky!

So my bag looks a little bit different.

Γι'ακόμη μια φορά δεν ακολούθησα το πατρόν,

αυτοσχεδίασα και έφτιαξα ένα δικό μου σχέδιο.

Επίσης χρησιμοποίησα πλαστικό αντί για ύφασμα,

αυτό με δυσκόλεψε λίγο!

Έτσι, η δική μου τσάντα είναι λίγο διαφορετική.

But still cute, huh?

Αλλά παραμένει χαριτωμένη, ε;

And here's what I've made based on that.

A Granny Square, wooden sticks, pieces of  ribbon

and my cute kite is ready to be hanged!

Κι εδώ είναι αυτό που έφτιαξα βασιζόμενη σε αυτό.

Ένα Granny Square, ξυλάκια από σουβλάκι,

κομματάκια από κορδέλα και ο χαριτωμένος χαρταετός μου

είναι έτοιμος για κρέμασμα!

Maybe if I made some more it could make a cute garland.

Hmm...

Ίσως αν έφτιαχνα μερικούς ακόμη θα μπορούσε να γίνει μια χαριτωμένη γιρλάντα.

More Home Ec Class Crafts

Yesterday I decided to start making some of the Home Ec projects. I have fallen WAY behind with this class so I wanted to make up for the lost time. I didn't make much, since I don't have many supplies yet, but I really enjoyed it. Sewing has become my New Love!

I've started with the first Bonus project,

a Pillow Pin Cushion.

I've used scraps of different fabrics that I had around.

It turned out really good, although one of the fabrics that I've used wasn't of such a good quality so it ripped out during the process of filling it in. Fortunately, I've managed to sew it better and didn't have to start all over again.

The second project was a Gift Pouch.

I've used (once more) a kitchen hand towel.

Once again, a little mistake. I haven't read the instructions all the way, so I've missed the part that was saying "don't sew ALL along the way", and I've ended up with no opening for inserting the cord. I had to rip again a small part. Plus, I've made the top part too narrow. Oh, well, that's what this Class is all about, learn how to sew and learn from your mistakes. And I've made MANY so far! So, I believe I'm learning! hahahaha

The Creation Of The Day

Just the other day I wanted to "make something"! You know the feeling, when you are wondering inside your house trying to find something to keep your hands occupied? Well, that was what has happened to me. So, I went through some pieces of fabric and ribbon that I had around and decided to make a bracelet.

I've used a scrap of fabric from my other creation

and some patterned ribbon with a really thin wire inside it.

The little flower that I've made didn't

work out really well, so it got a little messed.

Do you like it?

Just lately I've started experimenting with my sewing machine and I get very excited every time I finish something. I have bought it over a year ago, without knowing ANYTHING about sewing. I thought it wouldn't be too hard to learn. I hope, one day, I'll be able to sew even my own clothes. That would be WONDERFUL! My mother used to make for us some amazing pieces of clothing. I always felt so privileged and unique because I got to wear something that no one could find anywhere to buy. Maybe I should ask her to help me out with some of the basics or even a simple pattern. I'll keep you posted.

The Creations Of The Day

As I have mentioned before, every Tuesday I'm attending a Crafting Workshop with some other colleagues (elementary & nursery school teachers). So, from time to time I share with you our creations.

A Mandala Design

A decorative flower made with cardboard,

colored paper, aluminum foil and tissue paper.

A greeting card.

Collage made with torn paper and pieces of cork. 

The flower is from a vintage wallpaper.

AMAZING!

The Creations Of The Day

The last few days I've been creative... A LOT! I've been making mostly decorated candles for the Easter. Some of them are already in the shop of my friend Helena (I forgot to take pictures but I'll show you the ones that I made yesterday). They are so simple to make, all you need is inspirations and any kind of stuff you have around. I've used paper napkins, raffia, sea shells, ribbons e.t.c. Here, take a look.

The Creations of The Day

Hello everyone. I'm sorry I've skipped the yesterday's post. I'm a bad, bad blogger! I've been really busy at work and I didn't have the time to do the research that it was needed. On the other hand I've been busy with the Indie Business Class. So... maybe I will miss some of the regular posts for a while, if that ok :-)

Nevertheless, for today I have the creation of the day. Yesterday (after I finished "playing around" with my Indie Business workbook - I'll show it when it'll be finished), I experimented with some wire and yarn. And I came up with these.

I really liked how they've turned out so I've added a slim chain.

Η Δημιουργίες Της Ημέρας

Γειά σε όλους. Συγνώμη που παρέλειψα το χθεσινό post. Είμαι μια πολλή κακιά blogger! Ήμουν πολλή απασχολημένη με τη δουλειά και δεν είχα το χρόνο να κάνω την έρυνα που χρειαζόταν. Από την άλλη ήμουν απασχολημένη με το Indie Business Class. Έτσι... ίσως θα παραλείψω μερικά από τα συνηθισμένα posts για λιγο, αν δεν σας πειράζει :-)

Παρόλα αυτά, για σήμερα έχω τη δημιουργία της ημέρας. Χθες (αφού τελείωσα το "παιχνίδι" μου με το βιβλίο εργασιών του Indie Business - θα σας το δείξω μόλις ολοκληρωθεί), πειραματίστηκα με λίγο σύρμα και νήμα. Και κατέληξα σε αυτά.

Μου άρεσε πάρα πολύ όπως βγήκαν κι έτσι πρόσθεσα και μια λεπτή αλυσίδα.
