Yesterday I got a phone call from my sister from Berlin. She sounded really worried. "How are you?" she asked me. "I'm ok" I replied. "Are you sick?" she asked me again. "No! From where did you get that idea?". "Are you sure?" she insisted. "I'm ok, really!" I couldn't understand what she meant. "But... I've seen on your blog that you have something... and it's not contagious... Are you really ok?" Then I got it! It was hilarious! She has seen this
and she didn't put much thought on it, she instantly assumed that I actually had a disease or something! I couldn't stop laughing! It was SO FUNNY!
Then I realized... it must be common for others to think of you as a "strange person" if you consider yourself a craft addict. Most of them can't understand why you are keeping this scrap of paper (it's torn, isn't it?) or why you collect all this "useless" caps of bottles and why your room seems more like a warehouse rather than an actual bedroom. You can't blame them, right?
Have you experienced
anything like it?
Have you got this
STRANGE
look from others?
Please, share.
I definitely have this sickness. I just try and keep my "stuff" hidden in the garage or in closets, but sometimes it has been known to take over whole rooms. By now, my family is used to it - or at least they should be.
ReplyDeleteOh! How I know what you mean! I'm dreaming of a big house with a big-gigantic room for all my supplies, like a warehouse! :-)
