Summer Camp - Some More Hanging Lanterns

As I've mentioned before, I wasn't really satisfied with my previous lanterns. I wanted to try something different, be more creative. So, last night I gathered my supplies and started experimenting with colored wire. The first one that I've made was this.
Maybe I should have put some beads somewhere,
or a ribbon, or something.
I think my second one was "the deal"!
I really like it.
Once again I used ribbon, colored wire and added some beads around the handle. The special detail is the beautiful tape from Tapeswell that I've won months ago in one of their giveaways (as I've mentioned here) but haven't got the chance to use it in any project so far.
I think in the candle light the pattern looks lovely.
Don't you think?
Do you like them?

Have A Lovely Weekend!

Summer Camp - Summer Floral Hair Clip

Hello again. Today is going to be a full of creation day because yesterday I stayed home and did some "Summer Camp Homework". The next one that I'm going to show you is the Summer Floral Hair Clip. From the bottom to the top I've used:
a piece of felt
some fabric from my other project
a piece of vintage wallpaper
buttons
a flower made of plastic canvas
This is my hair clip
A closer look
It turned out quite large because
I didn't want to ruin the pattern of the wallpaper.
This is me wearing it. (my hair is dark again)
Do you like it?

Summer Camp - Button Based Embroidery Patterns

Hello again. Today I'd like to show you the second project from Summer Camp that I've been working on. It's about Button Based Embroidery Patterns. I only made one, but I'm willing to try all out. As a matter of fact, it was the first time that I ever tried anything like it (except this time, but it was the first time that I did it with an embroidery hoop & embroidery thread).
I didn't have a clue about hand stitching, so some mistakes are obvious. Nevertheless, I'm really happy with the result. I also didn't follow the instructions... we were supposed to use a fabric with a light cotton pattern, so that it would be easy for us to trace the pattern on it. I realized it too late, so most of my stitching is made free handed, without a guideline. It's not bad for my first time.
What do you think?

Summer Camp - Summer Logbook

RVA's Summer Camp has finally started and our first craft was a Summer Logbook by Leigh-Ann. We were supposed to make some sort of a journal made out of scrapbook parer and a piece of fabric on the cover. It was super easy, just folding and gluing together. So, I made this:
For the inside I chose to put just plain, colorful pages.
I've used this foam sticker that I had around.
I like that it looks like the sun.
I've made this flower based on Elsie's idea
for flowers made from plastic bags
from the Tell Your Story Online Art journal Class.
And I've took this stripped ribbon, put it on a double sided tape
and made it into a fabric tape.
So, tell me what you think.

Red Velvet Summer Camp

First of all, I want to apologize for not being around but I had a HUGE problem with my computer, so I had to do a format (meaning delete EVERYTHING, and put everything back together!). And still I haven't finished. Some programs still don't work properly. Plus, Until Sunday I'll be BUSY, BUSY, BUSY with work that has to be delivered until then, so... maybe... no posts for this week. Sooorrryyyy.... :-S
Anyway... something good, by the way... I've signed up for this AMAZING online Class (Red Velvet Summer Camp), and I can't wait to start! Although, I'm still a little behind with the Tell Your Story Art Journal Online Class. All I can say is that those girls... ROCK! They are so inspiring and talented! And they know the way to keep everyone motivated. I'm so anxious to see all of the wonderful creations that they have come up with to share in this Class. I'm sure it will be so much fun! You can still sign up if you want to, the Camp starts June 14th.
I'm sure it will be AMAZING!!!!!
