Hey, Little Sailor!

Last week a good friend of mine gave birth to the tiniest, cutest, sweetest baby boy that you have ever laid your eyes on! Yes, I'm pretty excited about it as you can tell! Yesterday was his daddy's birthday, so what a better gift than something for the new family member too? He loves to sail and he's already excited that now he has a son to go with him and do "manly stuff" together (you know, in 15 years or so, but it doesn't matter). ;-)

With that in mind I made him some sailor baby onesies.

 Την περασμένη εβδομάδα μια καλή μου φίλη γέννησε το πιο μικροσκοπικό, πανέμορφο και γλυκό αγοράκι που έχετε δει ποτέ! Ναι, είμαι πολλή ενθουσιασμένη όπως μπορείτε να καταλάβετε!Χθες είχε γενέθλια ο μπαμπάκας του, γι'αυτό τι καλύτερο δώρο από κάτι και για το νέο μέλος της οικογένειας; Στον μπαμπά αρέσει πολύ η ιστιοπλοΐα και είναι ήδη πολύ ενθουσιασμένος που τώρα έχει ένα γιό για να πηγαίνει μαζί του και να κάνουν "αντρικά πράγματα" μαζί (ξέρετε, σε καμμιά 15αριά χρόνια βέβαια, αλλά δεν έχει σημασία). ;-)

Με αυτή την ιδέα λοιπόν στο μυαλό του έφτιαξα

μερικά φορμάκια για τον μικρό ιστιοπλόο.

Oh, and this was the t-shirt that my friend gave him after his son was born.
He is planning on wearing it on their first ride together as daddy and son.
Α, και αυτό είναι το μπλουζάκι που του έδωσε η φίλη μου μετά την γέννηση του μικρού τους.
Σχεδιάζει να το φορέσει στην πρώτη τους βόλτα έξω με το καροτσάκι.

Happy Birthday To My Bo-boy!

Today is my bo-boy's birthday. He's turning 31 (like I did a week ago, February 21st, but I wasn't in the mood of celebrating it - I'm going through a middle age crisis?). I've made him something special. I've found the idea through Pinterest (I LOVE IT! Have I told you that before?). It's a tutorial for a Little Secret Magic Box. You can use any size match box, but I've made my own because it wouldn't fit my surprise.

Σήμερα είναι τα γενέθλια του καλού μου. Κλείνει τα 31 (όπως κι εγώ πριν μια βδομάδα, στις 21 Φεβρουαρίου, αλλά δεν είχα διάθεση να τα γιορτάσω - περνάω κρίση μέσης ηλικίας;). Του έφτιαξα κάτι ξεχωριστό. Βρήκα την ιδέα στο Pinterest (ΤΟ ΑΓΑΠΩ! Σας το έχω ξαναπεί;) Είναι ένα tutorial για Ένα Μικρό Μυστικό Μαγικό Κουτάκι. Μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε σπιρτόκουτο σε ότι μέγεθος θέλετε, αλλά εγώ έφτιαξα μόνη μου ένα κουτάκι γιατί δεν θα χωρούσε μέσα η έκπληξή μου.

I've made him a little booklet, using playing cards.

Του έφτιαξα ένα μικρό βιβλιαράκι,

χρησιμοποιώντας κάρτες τράπουλας.

I've written 31 reasons why I love him and

decorated it with fancy stickers.

I loved it and he loved it too!

Του έγραψα 31 λόγους γιατί τον αγαπώ

και το διακόσμησα με διάφορα αυτοκολλητάκια.

Το λάτρεψα και το λάτρεψε και αυτός!

I've also made a Birthday Card - Magic Box

with a small match box

for my "brother"-good friend George

who had his birthday on Sunday, February 26th

(yes, we are all born in the same year,

just days apart, isn't it weird?)

Έφτιαξα επίσης μια Κάρτα Γενεθλίων - Μαγικό κουτί

με ένα μικρό σπιρτόκουτο

για τον αδελφούλη - καλό μου φίλο Γιώργο

που είχε τα γενέθλιά του την Κυριακή. 26 Φεβρουαρίου

(ναι, έχουμε γεννηθεί και οι τρεις την ίδια χρονιά,

απλά με μερικές μέρες διαφορά, δεν είναι περίεργο;)

Happy Birthday to... ME!

Yes, that's right! Today is my birthday!

A great milestone! I'm turning... 30!

OH, MY GOD! I used to think that by the time I'll be 30 I'll be old! (that was when I was like 10 or something!) So, here I am... 30 and haven't realized a thing! Where have all these years gone? I'm serious! After 25 I've lost track of time! It's not that I'm afraid of getting older (ok, maybe I am a little), it's that people expect from me to feel, act and behave in a certain way and... I'M NOT!
The only thing that makes me sad is that I've been expecting to have already done so many things in my life that I haven't. (no, this doesn't include family and kids mom!) It's never too late they say, but... who knows! I guess Birthdays make me more sad than happy lately. Even sadder than New Year's Eve! Is it only me?

Oh, well, this was supposed to be a happy post!

Ναι, σωστά κατάλαβες! Σήμερα είναι τα γενέθλιά μου!

Ημέρα ορόσημο! Κλείνω τα... 30!

Ω, ΘΕΕ ΜΟΥ! Πίστευα πως όταν θα φτάσω να είμαι 30 θα είναι μεγάλη! (αυτό βέβαια ήταν όταν ήμουν γύρω στα 10!) Έτσι, να'μαι λοιπόν... 30 και δεν έχω καταλάβει τίποτα! Πού πήγαν όλα αυτά τα χρόνια; Σοβαρά τώρα! Μετά τα 25 έχασα την αίσθηση του χρόνου! Δεν είναι ότι φοβάμαι ότι γερνάω (οκ, ίσως φοβάμαι λίγο), είναι που ο κόσμος περιμένουν από εμένα να νιώθω, να ενεργώ και να συμπεριφέρομαι με έναν συγκεκριμένο τρόπο κι εγώ... ΔΕΝ ΤΟ ΚΑΝΩ!
Το μόνο πράγμα που με στεναχωρεί είναι ότι περίμενα πως θα έχω ήδη κάνει τόσα πολλά πράγματα στη ζωή μου που δεν τα έχω κάνει. (όχι, αυτό δεν συμπεριλαμβάνει οικογένεια και παιδιά μαμά!) Ποτέ δεν είναι αργά λένε, αλλά... ποιός ξέρει! Πιστεύω ότι τελευταία τα γενέθλια με στεναχωρούν περίσσοτερο απ'ότι με χαροποιούν. Με στεναχωρούν περίσσοτερο απ'ότι και η Παραμονή Πρωτοχρονιάς! Είμαι μόνο εγώ έτσι;

Ω, τέλος πάντως, αυτό υποτείθεται ότι

θα ήταν ένα χαρούμενο post!

Hello Again!

Hello everyone! Did you miss me? I know I did. Sorry for being away but I was too tired from camp and too busy with work that I couldn't post anything, plus my internet connection has been down for 3-4 days! But today I have some photos to show you of some cool creations that I made for the kids in Summer Camp. On Wednesday we had a birthday party of Lydia who was turning 10 and I made her two decorative garlands (for the party and then she can use them in her room).

I've used yarn and cupcake paper trays.
I've also made her a Birthday Wish Book
so that everyone could write inside a wish for her.

On Thursday we painted some pine cones
and hanged them from a string.

Then again on Friday we had another birthday party.
Joseph was turning 9

and his mom wanted to celebrate it with all his new friends.
So we had Birthday Cake

and lots of candies

The kids were so excited!
I've also made him a Birthday Wish Book

That was it for now.

of the things I did while I was "away".

Annie's Belated Birthday Present

One month ago my friend Annie had her birthday, but I haven't given her a present so far. (I know, I'm impossible!) So, I've made her something special that I knew that she would love it. She loves clutches and she has a serious crush on bows, so I've made her a clutch based on this idea that I've found over Blue-eyed Freckle. The idea was this:

I'd have gone with something so colorful, but since Annie's taste is a little bit different I've decided to make it more plain.

This was my placemat in the beginning.

And this is the clutch completed.

You should give it a try yourself. It was super easy!

My Creations

Yesterday I've thought to decorate some candles for the Easter. We have a custom here in Greece to hold a candle the Saturday before Easter so that we can receive the "Holy Light". Usually a decorated one. And it's also a custom for the godfather to bring  one as a gift to his godchild. I've used mainly paper napkins, ribbons and glitter. 

So, here is what I came up with.

I Love Belated Presents!

Yes I love them, I really do! It's always a surprise to receive a gift on an unexpected date. Although my birthday has passed, just yesterday I've received my present from my friend Afrodite. It was a GOODY BAG, and I LOVE GOODY BAGS! :-P

And these are the "goodies" that it had inside

1. Fingerless gloves
2. A felt bag
3. A little coin purse (actually a baby sock.
HOW ADORABLE is that?!)
4. A pair of cupcake earrings
5. A pair of OWL earrings.(So cute!)
6. A mini gumball machine.
It actually works like a real one!

Thank you so much for my presents! I love you and I miss you so much! :-)

Λατρεύω Τα Καθυστερημένα Δώρα!

Ναι τα λατρεύω! Είναι πάντα μια έκπληξη να λαμβάνεις ένα δώρο σε κάποια απρόσμενη ημερομηνία. Αν και τα γενέθλιά μου πέρασαν, χθες παρέλαβα το δώρο μου από την φίλη μου την Αφροδίτη. Ήταν ένα GOODY BAG, και ΛΑΤΡΕΥΩ ΤΑ GOODY BAGS! :-P

Και αυτά είναι όλα τα "goodies" που είχε μέσα

1. Γαντάκια χωρίς δάχτυλα
2. Ένα τσόχινο τσαντάκι
3. Ένα μικρό πορτοφολάκι για κέρματα (βασικά είναι μια κάλτσα μωρού.
ΠΟΣΟ ΑΞΙΟΛΑΤΡΕΥΤΟ είναι αυτό;!)
4. Ένα ζευγάρι σκουλαρίκια σε σχήμα από κεκάκια
5. Ένα ζευγάρι σκουλαρίκια ΚΟΥΚΟΥΒΑΓΙΑ .(τόσο χαριτωμένα!)
6. Ένα μινι αυτόματο μηχάνημα για τσίχλες.
Και λειτουργεί σαν κανονικό.
